Book / Concept

Caitlyn Joyce Leach (she/her) is a performer, teaching artist, and writer. Her senior year at East Carolina University (Go Pirates), she conceived and co-wrote, with Talen Piner, the biographical musical titled LOVABLE LUNATIC about the award-winning musical theatre lyricist Dorothy Fields. During the pandemic, Caitlyn turned to writing again to conceive and write a completely new, original musical with Talen’s help, titled SCOUTS: a thrilling, adventure musical from the 1980s about inclusivity, family, and gender. @caitlynfullofjoyce

Talen Piner (he/him) [tay-lin] is trying his best. He loves being a writer/composer for new, risky musical theatre. BFA: Musical Theatre from East Carolina University. At ECU, he teamed up with Caitlyn Joyce Leach to write and produce the biographical musical LOVABLE LUNATIC: THE LIFE & LYRICS OF DOROTHY FIELDS. Talen has written another queer musical, BEYOND THIS PLACE, having its world premiere at Dixon Place Fall 2022 and awarded a Semifinalist for the Eugene O’Neill National Music Theatre Conference 2023. @talentalentalen
